About Me
Biography
Hello, my name is Katharine Winter! I am currently a Frisco High School senior focusing on firefighting and first responders. I am very passionate about helping people in our community and positively influencing future generations. I have not always thought about firefighter as my future career, but I knew some things thing for sure: I couldn't work in an office all day, I wanted to incorporate medicine, and I wanted to challenge myself. My experience has just started through the Frisco Fire Department Explorer program where I have learned how to push myself mentally, and physically while putting my dedication and ambition to the test. I look forward to growing my knowledge, skills, and connections even more through ISM in the field of firefighting.
Mission Statement
Through my independent study, I am dedicated to improving my knowledge and understanding of the inside mechanics of firefighting that surpasses the general knowledge of water on fire. With the assistance of my mentor, I will challenge myself to learn the skills they utilize and formulate new ideas through the help of my independent research. My final product will inspire people and open doors to innovations that can help the department which waterfalls into benefiting society. I hope to demonstrate my knowledge, compassion, and determination in this field through the opportunities presented to me by the ISM program.
